International Forum for the Literature and Culture of Peace.

By Jorge Aliaga

Dear friends, as we begin the new year 2022, we must realize that serious waves of wars threaten the stability of our planet. For a long time I have been critical of those infertile voices that proclaimed the word peace without substantiating the reason for their 'pacifist' actions. They used, I think, the word peace to win audiences to listen to the reading of a poem that often had no relation to the theme of peace in the world.

Since last year I have been part of the IFLAC project to help raise awareness about this issue of vital importance to humanity. Writers, poets and artists in general can contribute enormously to this task for the good of all humanity without discrimination of any kind. Peace must be the chain that unites the peoples of the world.

The meeting of the IFLAC International Board of Directors held last December has pointed out the crucial urgency for the fulfillment of our objective: the elimination of wars and terror on our planet.
