I’m not really one for buying football shirts, but as mentioned previously I am so impressed by Kilmarnock Football Club decision to include the visual DNA of penicillin, discovered by my fellow Kilmarnock Academy pupil, Sir Alexander Fleming in 1928. Fused onto the new crimson red kit, a cyber blue pattern illuminates the chemical construct of the world’s first antibiotic.
The kit has been designed with the aim of inspiring youngsters across the region to embrace innovation, by serving as a reminder that their contribution can have a lasting impact on society. Furthermore, a proportion of the money raised from the sale of the strip will go to Crosshouse Hospital’s Children Fund.
The shirt is already the best selling Killie away shirt of all time and I’m glad to play my part.
